Present Simple versus Present Continuous













En esta unidad vamos a practicar los dos presentes: Present Simple y Present Continuous, oponiéndoles. Repasa esta tabla y haz los ejercicios on-line



Simple Present
Present Continuous
AFFIRMATIVE:
infinitivo
(3ª persona singular: infinitivo + '-s' / “-es”)

I speak
you speak
he / she / it speaks
we speak
they speak

NEGATIVE:
Don’t/Doesn’t (3ª p. Sing) + infinitivo
I don’t speak/ He doesn’t speak

INTERROGATIVE:
Do/Does + sujeto+ infinitivo?
Do you speak English? Yes, I do.
Does he speak English? No, he doesn't.

AFFIRMATIVE:
Am/is/are + infinitivo+- ing
I am speaking
you are speaking
he / she / it is speaking
we are speaking
they are speaking


NEGATIVE:
Am/is/are + not+infinitivo+- ing
I am not speaking / He isn’t speaking

INTERROGATIVE:
Am/is/are + sujeto+ infinitivo+- ing?
Are you speaking? Yes,I am.
Is he speaking? No,he isn't.

Nota: Algunos verbos solo se pueden usar en Simple Present:
